As I write this my children are in bed and even though I shot the images of their bedroom just this afternoon, their bedroom is sadly no longer this clean. But they are sleeping and I love them so dearly when they sleep.
As I continue to document our home renovation, here are the bedrooms. In both of these rooms we didn't do that much. They both got new flooring. It's the same flooring that is throughout our entire home, which really helps our home feel more spacious then it is. They also got fresh tile on the window sills, the girls room got two of the three windows and frames replaced, new baseboards, fresh paint (which still needs to be touched up...), fresh hardware on the doors, new ceiling fans, updated electrical outlets, and a good deep clean!
We let the children have the larger room. Our bedroom is small, so small in fact our bed is a full. They have toys and need more space to grow and Drew and I like to cuddle. We used to have a king sized bed and we would always sleep at different ends, so we welcome the closeness.
For the girl's room I wanted it be to bright, colorful, and feminine. They love pink and purple and I wanted a room that didn't over do the girly-ness. The girls picked out their bedding and I worked around the colors in their comforters adding the blue in the curtains and rug to balance everything out.
Sources: Nearly everything is from target or Ikea, but mostly target.
Girls Room: The bedding, rug, curtains, white chair, mirror, assorted baskets and bins are mostly from target. The bookcase is from Ikea as is the train set. The play kitchen and doll house are from Santa (which means amazon!) The floral decals are from Urban Walls.
My Room: Our bed frame, rug, small baskets, and white cupboard are all from Ikea. The ladder was build for us as part of a trade I did from photographing a wedding, the pink lamp is from target, the camel (named Jafar) is from a thrift store, the camera is a Canon AE-1 from my father-in-law's garage. I'd like to add that our gray bedding is linen and looks so great unmade. I HATE making the bed and if you're like me I strongly recommend linen bedding. Our bed is almost never made.
**Usually we have different artwork displayed in our home (the girls have a beautiful grumpy pear from Fine Little Day in their room and I have a watercolor that used to hang in the stairwell of my grandparents home), but for licensing purposes all the ones in these photographs are my own or were made by the children. You can license my work through Stocksy United.
And the scary before images....
