New Mexico || Painted In Dirt

The New Mexico landscape has colors I never expected to see blended together. Grays that read purple. The nuance in the brown is astonishing. Ocher, red, yellow, tan, etcetera. A rainbow of different values painted in the dirt. Nature is teaching me how to blend color and reexamine shape. New ways to consider what values and mixtures are possible.

There are very few plants (let alone flowers!) out in the desert, and yet the ones that do survive have a beautiful grit that is unlike anything I know.
